Wink and Grow Rich is the fable of a nine-year-old boy being raised by his carpenter father who is both sick and tired… In fact, he is tired of being sick and sick of being tired. Every day for the last twenty years the carpenter has visited the Well of Wealth and spent a dollar – because it is generally known by the townsfolk that if they give generously to the Well, it will give generously to them in return. On this day, the carpenter is so ill that he is unable to visit the well, so he entrusts his nine-year-old son Richard with a crumpled but treasured dollar and sends him in his place.

Along the way, Richard discovers that the Well of Wealth is not where he thought it would be – so he follows a different, more overgrown path, on which he meets an old woman, an optometrist, a plumber, a gardener, a fisherman, a rower, a musician and an innkeeper. These intriguing and mysterious characters act as guides for Richard and share their wisdom. They have all built their wealth in very different ways – yet there is something about each that is common to all.

This fictional tale lets you think more deeply about the dynamics of wealth creation. The keys to wealth are in a story behind a story; a lesson behind the lesson. That means that to find the keys the listener needs to become better at seeing – a philosophy the author sums up as: “What you see is always what you get.”

Each time you listen to this audio book again, you will take out more keys, one by one, until finally you will unlock the doors to your own wealth!

Did you know that most people do not have a master plan? Do you have one?

If not, it might be a good idea to a) learn what a master plan is, and b) make one for yourself!

Master Plan – The Definiton

The broad but focused(!) line you want to follow to reach your goals. This is like a recipee for your personal fulfillment and happyness. It’s your road to success.

How to build a master plan for yourself:

I tend to do things in a quite structured way, maybe you have a different approach, for me this works quite fine:

Step one: Create a list of your personal, spiritual, physical, emotional and financial goals for the next year – i.e. for 2008.

Step two: Now assign priorities for each goal, start with number 1 for the most important goal, and increase the number as the priority decreases. You can assign the same number to no more than two items!

Step three: Now predict by what date you will have achieved the goal with the highest priority, then do the same for all your other goals.

OK, this is it, you now have your own Master Plan.

Question: How will you achieve your goals, now that you have written them down?

Answer: I suggest you read through this blog, it’s a good starting point, I’ve touched many subjects related to reaching your goals already. You also should – correct my self- MUST listen to a few audio books to understand how much energy you have and how you positively CAN reach any goal you set yourself.

Start off with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne (Rhonda Byrne) and then go on listening to Law of Attraction by Michael Losier .

Once you have listened to these two, I suggest you also download 50 self help classics a great audio book that brings you fifty more authors who all have very valid arguments for your success. By listening to these AND following their advice, you’ll be reaching your goals much faster than what you ever believed possible!

I’ll be doing a job interview questions series over the next few days. This being the end of the year, quite a few people are considering where they stand in their carreer, and if you’re one of them it’s worthwhile to also think about these sneeky questions you’ll come across from HR (human resources) people, trying to unearth your so called weak spots….

Here we go with the first question:

How long have you been looking for a job?

(The HR person wants to know if is there something wrong with you. Have other employers noticed a problem area and are you therefor on job search for a long time already?)

This could be your answer, especially if it’s been a while since you last held a firm employment:

Your tactic: Explain the long period with a type of sabattical, you took some time to assess your position and to make sure you know where your future will bring you. Sounds good, nobody can wrong you for that and it nicely explains, why it’s been some time since your last job.

“After I was laid off from my last job, I took the opportunity to take some time out to examine my career goals and where I was going with my life. I have just begun my search in the last few weeks. I have a definite goal in mind and have been very selective about the positions I consider. Your company and this position are of great interest to me.”

There are plenty more job interview questions that can come your way. I suggest you take some time to seriously prepare. Here are a few good audio books that you can listen to:

You can listen to sample recording of these book online and if you like what you hear, they are ready for immediate download! Good luck!

You need a strategy to accomplish your goals.

There is a step by step approach that will bring you to the achievements that you are haeding for:

1. Make a contract with yourself.

It’s OK to think: I’ll do this and that. It’s much better to write your goal on paper and define it clearly. Date this paper and sign it. Then place it where you can see it several times every day. … and keep your contract!
2. Identify specific rewards for positive action.

In this contract you can also enter the rewards you’ll give yourself for achieving certain landmarks on the way towards that goal. Treat yourself to things you really like when you manage to accomplish a specific step!
3. Establish certain penalties for procrastination.

This might work for some, for others it’s not practical. If you are sure that you will also use this intrument when you don’t go ahead and miss a landmark, then enter that into your contract as well. If you know that you will anyhow ignore the penalties, then just leave this part out. No use of stipulating something just for the paper…
4. Break your goals down into small steps.

OK, these small steps really are the key to your success! A large chunk might be just too much to get started at all. So break your plan into smaller mini-goals (the landmarks I refer to above) and make the steps manageable. Then it’s a lot easier to tackel one first step.
5. Schedule a time segment for each activity.

Try to estimate how long it will take to achieve each of these smaller steps and wrtie down, by when you want to reach the intermediate goals.
6. ACTION!

So, now you have a great plan and it looks all nicely organized. This is going to be useful only if you now take action. Do what you planned and enjoy the feeling of having reached each intermediate goal! You’ll see that by following this simple step by step system, you’ll actually enjoy doing what’s needed and the triumph of actually reaching a goal in the predetermined timespan is a feeling that you’ll start to love!

Have fun reaching your goals!

This positive energy and how to cultivate the right attitude is describen in ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. It’s a great audio book that you can listen to on the go. This book will change the way you look at your life and how you’ll be setting goals and achieving the results you want!

A Positive Mental Attitude is the key to your success.

Does this situation seem to be familiar:

You enter a room and see a few rather uninspired faces, people moving about with hanging shoulders and seemingly uninterested, even annoyed, are doing their daily chores and you can see that they would give nearly anything to be elsewhere…. ???

Having such a stance and mental attitude is making their day pure misery.

On the other side of the scale, you may have experienced an other scene as well:

When entering a room, smiling faces and friendly words greet you. People are bouncing about and seemingly hardly touch the floor when moving. Everything seems to be fun, feindly words and jockes float about. These people are happy! Happy to be where they are, happy to do what they do.

What is it that makes the big difference in these two images?

It’s their mental attitude. They are working daily to cultivate a positive mental attitude. And they now have made it nearly a habit, soemthing that starts to be natural. This poritive mental attitude is the foundation of success.

Because what you send out also comes back to you. If yousmile at people, are friendly and positive, it’s only natural for others to replicate. You start a vicious circle, but you make it turn the right way round:

The more you are radiating positive energy and hand out smiles, the more of the same is returned to you. That fuels your energies and you can give out even more, more comes back and so on.

Isn’t that great???

Read more about positive energy and how to cultivate the right attitude in ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. It’s a great audio book that you can listen to on the go and that will not only educate you on the way of being positive, but this book will change the way you look at your life. Reading is Great, but if your read an important book, magazine article or speech, you should make sure you get the most out of it.

Here’s my suggestion how to do this: When you come across a thought or sentence that hits you as being important and that you want to be able to use later in conversation or just for your inspiration:

Hold on a moment, re-read it a second and third time, think about it.

Then copy this quotation or motivational passages and memorize it.

Reading ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne I have marked many passages, and written them into a small book for myself. Using this small book now, I get to the essence of the book immediately and can refresh my memory easily.

Copying the important passages forces you to develop the right mental habits which will inevitably lead you to success.

Listening is an other very important skill that many people neglect. If you catch yourself not really listening to the other perosn when in a conversation, or forgetting immediately what was said, and you want to change this, the audio book ‘Listening – a forgotten skill’ might be just the audio book you are looking for.

Managers and other employees spend more than 40 percent of their time listening to other people but often do it so poorly that the result is misunderstood instructions, misdirected projects, and erroneous actions—millions of dollars’ worth of mistakes just because most people don’t know how to listen.

In this new edition of her classic guide to the art of effective listening, Madelyn Burley-Allen shows you how to acquire active, productive listening skills and put them to work for you—professionally, socially, and personally.

As we’re always on the run, we tend to try and do things as quickly as possible. But this can be very counter-productive…

If you’re trying to do something, do it right or don’t do it at all. Things done only with half your attention given, are not worth doing.

This is especially true if you are reading and learning. Make sure you have the necessary time to settle into the subject and really work with the information.

Actively read with a pen or highlighter in hand. Underscore the important sentences or words that stand out to you. Write your own notes into the margins. Always make sure to jot down any ideas or images that pop up in your mind when you read. These fleeting ideas that are triggered by associations are invaluable! This is what Rhonda Byrne means, when she mentions the Law of Allowing! Never dismiss or discard and idea or image, always let it work – you will gain great inspiration from such ideas.

A great way to prepare for a good, productive learning seesion is to use this meditation audio ‘Awakened Mind System’. You can download the audio book ‘Awakened Mind System’ immediately, just click on the link.

Some People tend to procrastinate because they are paralyzed with fear of failure, loss, pain and some even with fear of success!

What we fear becomes our reality! So it’s time to do away with fear of anything!

Here are few facts about fear and how it affects your life. Do you really want that?

  • Fear is ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’.
  • Over 90% of what we fear never becomes reality.
  • The best way to overcome fear is to do what you fear.
  • It helps if you visualize the worst case scenario and accept it as a possibility and realize it will probably never come to pass.
  • Our imagination exaggerates negative fears out of proportion even though what you fear in most cases never occurs!

To overcome this fear and to turn your energies to more positive thoughts, I recommend you listen to the audio book ‘Fear and Other Uninvited Guestsby Harriet Lerner. She has written a great manual that will help you see and guide you step by step to a more happy and relaxed life.

Unhappiness, says bestselling author Harriet Lerner, is fueled by three key emotions: anxiety, fear, and shame. They are the uninvited guests in our lives. When tragedy or hardship hit, they may become our constant companions.

With stories that are sometimes hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking, Lerner takes us from “fear-lite” to the most difficult lessons the universe sends us.

No one signs up for anxiety, fear and shame, but we can’t avoid them, either. As we learn to respond to these three key emotions in new ways, we can live more fully and move into the future with courage, clarity, humor, and hope.

Preparing for a job interview means getting ready to be grilled, getting ready to be your best and show your positive assets. Be also prepared for the interviewers to try and ferret out all the other stuff, things you don’t like to talk about, your weaknesses etc.

Here’s what a potential applicant for a job might be asked by the person screening applicants. If you prepare for these questions and are ready, you will outdo 80% of all other applicants:

  1. Looking back over your career – and your time at high school and college – what are the talents and skills that set you apart form others? What can you do better than almost everyone else?
  2. What made you decide to apply for this position? What is the attraction that this particular opportunity and our organization holds for you?
  3. Tell us which activities in your previous jobs have you enjoyed the most? Which tasks and activities have you had the most success with?
  4. Which activities on the other hand could be dealt with by others in your organization better than you could? Why was that so?
  5. If I were to ask your former bosses and your colleagues about you, what would they say are your greatest strengths and talents?
  6. In you last two jobs: What results have you delivered? What accomplishments are you most proud of?
  7. Now let’s assume we offer you this job amd you start working with us. What would need to be true about our organization, the team, and your job for you to be able to tell your friends half a year from now, “I’m glad I took this job. I made an excellent decision”?
  8. When you leave here, you’re likely to go over this interview once more and you’ll probaly wish that I had asked one question. What question will you wish I had asked?
  9. Do you have questions we have not covered yet?

In The Secret by Rhonda Byrne you’ll find a great set of information how to mentally prepare and to set yourself into a very positive mood. The inner strength you’ll gain from these techniques will help you feel better and thus also make a much better and composed impression on the interviewers.

You can use the Law of Attraction to your advantage, you can concentrate on your goals and create in this way a very strong force within yourself that will send out positive energy. Naturally you have to prepare for the interview also n the conventional way, do your home work and research into the company to prepare. Using a combination of the old fashioned prep work and the mental strength as described by Rhonda Ryner, you’ll succeed!
